Main Street tradition featured the usual sights and sounds of Independence Day on Tuesday morning as residents came in droves to celebrate America's birthday
Really appreciate the great write-up and photos since we could not make it downtown on the 4th. It’s a reminder of how important these traditions are for local families, and our lives are better when we can come together with our friends and neighbors. These are the small town values we need to share.
We missed the parade this year but we did head down after our BBQ ended to watch the fireworks. It was a good show but something seemed to go wrong. Everyone thought the show was over after what seemed like a finale, the flood lights came on, people started leaving. As we were pretty far away (on Castro near houses) walking to our car we start hearing big booms. We look back and could see more fireworks, a lot of them, that went on for several minutes. They were too big and loud to be the illegal fireworks that were being set off. I'm not sure what happened but seeing them close would have been amazing. Happy Independence Month!
I think they actually were non-sanctioned fireworks. We were still packing up/readying the bikes when they went off. They were too close to have been planned - which in turn probably made them seem louder and bigger for you.

Wow, that's scary. At least it happened by the water and not in the dry hills, I guess.
